“The Neighbors”

There’s almost no information about this, but it’s a recording of a man singing a St. Vincent song with only piano as accompaniment. It’s an interesting take on the song — I like his voice, he makes some interesting choices in terms of tone and phrasing. However, for some reason, he omits the best part of the song: “How can Monday be all right, then on Tuesday lose my mind? / Tomorrow’s some kind of stranger who I’m not supposed to see.”

The Lucksmiths-Sunlight in a Jar

This is a gift. This is the sort of song that I dream of a boy putting on a mixtape. I’d instantly fall in love. Instantly. This is the sort of song I put on repeat, and suddenly in the bleak dreadry routine there is hope, suddenly I’m smiling, and singing. This is the sort of love that seems impossible. This is the sort of happiness that seems unattainable. But it is, it is.

I tried to write an opera for us but I didn’t get that far, because trying to sum you up in song’s like catching sunlight in a jar.

Don’t break up! You’re so lovely. (To The Lucksmiths, who will never read this)
